DPL Group’s installation of Mechanical and Electrical works at Eversley Leisure Centre

Eversley Leisure Centre, part of the Everyone Active group, was due to open a long-awaited swimming pool at the end of 2023. The leisure centre, managed by operator Everyone Active in partnership with Basildon Council, has a higher purpose and is looking to address issues of deprivation and health inequality in the area with the £6.3 million addition to the site.

DPL was chosen thanks to a long, historic relationship with the contractor, and a proven track record of delivering a varied and diverse portfolio of projects.  We were chosen thanks to our non-combative, user-friendly approach and our reputation for delivering complex projects in the leisure sector such as this, on time, within budget, and to a very high standard. 

The long-awaited pool had been touted for many years, and now serves as a valuable community asset, providing an important leisure resource for local schools and the community. The newly housed state-of-the-art 25-metre, four-lane swimming pool, offers a safe and welcoming space for people of all ages and abilities from the local vicinity to enjoy the many benefits of swimming.

We were contracted with the completion of the new swimming pool and changing village area, working concurrently on another project that will also provide facilities for the Everyone Active group. 

It was imperative, during the construction of the facility, to maintain a constant presence on site, drawing on our strong relationships with specialist contractors that we have embedded seamlessly in our supply chain. Our expertise was called upon throughout the build, with a presence on-site to respond to any queries or challenges throughout the 9-month build. 

The project timeline was scoped, and was tight, running from January to September 2023. The coveted and highly anticipated swimming pool was opened to the public with a free open day with family swimming sessions, on November 18th, 2023.
