They faced challenges due to the constraints of being in a listed building. They needed to install the necessary toilet facilities, which proved to be complicated. We successfully addressed the issues related to the listed status while also managing the installation of new electrical systems for the toilet and kitchen areas within the building. They aim to educate people on the signs and symptoms prior to its arrival, support cancer patients during treatment through non-clinical therapies and provide a safe space in their wellbeing workshops in the latter part of treatment and beyond. At DPL Group, investing in the Ipswich community is fundamental to our business values. Therefore, supporting those who help so many during challenging times is truly rewarding. One of the charity’s trustees contacted us directly regarding the challenges faced in the office. Once we understood the requirements, DPL’s services were offered. Our Social Housing and Operations Manager, Dale Allen, took charge, while electricians Robert Ball and Byron Downs installed a new sub-main, lighting, as well as water and space heating throughout the new areas of the office. Cancer Support Suffolk’s impressive dedication to assisting many individuals facing one of life’s toughest challenges highlights the positive influence we can have in supporting those in our community. At DPL Group, we are deeply passionate about the design, installation, and maintenance of building services. However, our commitment goes beyond just physical structures; it encompasses fostering connections, supporting local businesses, and creating a brighter future for our community. “The team at DPL that carried out the job for us were amazing. Both friendly and with quality workmanship, we’re over the moon with the results. Working in a listed building is not easy but the team that came were very experienced and did a fabulous job. It’s important to have good safe facilities not just for our staff but for the cancer patients and their families we support. THANK YOU DPL!” – Mark Murphy MBE, CEO of Cancer Support Suffolk
