Will Jack Marketing Coordinator and Content Producer 21 August 2024 3 min read Community Hub Ipswich (CHIp) is a community hub currently based at 47 St Nicholas Street in Ipswich, which has been a hub for locals to come together, since March 2022. They envisage Ipswich town centre to be a place where people go not only to shop but “to meet other people, explore ideas, take part in events and grow a sense of belonging and town pride.” With more and more properties within the town centre going empty, the high street needs to adapt and change. At their CHIp Studios, they have made an affordable space that lets creative people and artists experiment and try out new things. The studio is a space where people can develop, grow and collaborate together. Our Mechanical & Electrical Contracts Manager, Nathan Kettlety, already had a pre-existing relationship with Ed Nagi, the Director of CHIp CIC and once he found out about what that needed, DPL’s services were offered. Darren Smith, Mechanical Engineer, and Kyle Bantick, Mechanical Apprentice, installed and fitted cleaning and wash-up facilities for the artists in the darkroom At DPL Group, our passion for the design, installation and maintenance of building services goes beyond physical structures – it extends to building connections, supporting local businesses and ensuring a brighter future for our community. CHIP’s hospitality in supporting numerous local traders, volunteers and members of the community just serves as a reminder of the positive impact we can create to help those around us. “We are proud to build upon the CHIp Studios, a space for artists to experiment and build their creative businesses. We are so grateful for DPL Group’s continued support to help the local community and the talented local creatives in Ipswich. We especially want to thank them for their generosity and their enthusiasm to help us.” – Ed Nagi, CHIp CIC Director
