However, it was a pivotal moment when Group 1 embarked on a substantial project to establish a comprehensive BMW EV infrastructure, a significant endeavor driven by the evolution of electric mobility in the automotive industry. Recognizing the magnitude of this project and the need for a partner who could deliver a turnkey solution, Group 1 turned to DPL.

Initial Site Survey
DPL Group’s service offering commenced with an examination of the site’s existing infrastructure. This initial step involved comprehensive site surveys and detailed reports. This information was pivotal in planning and designing the new EV infrastructure. It provided crucial insights into how to optimise the installation process, minimise disruptions, and ensure the efficient integration of the new equipment with the existing site setup.
Applications and Management of New Electrical DNO Supplies
DPL Group took charge of liaising with the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to facilitate necessary electrical supply upgrades for the BMW EV infrastructure. Managing DNO applications and negotiations demanded in-depth technical knowledge and a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements. DPL’s expertise ensured the project had the necessary electrical resources to function efficiently and accommodate the anticipated demand.
Design, Supply, Installation
Our team of experts worked closely with Group 1 to customise the EV charging solution to meet specific needs and goals. We sourced the latest, cutting-edge EV charger units, ensuring they were not only technologically advanced but also highly efficient and reliable.
Groundwork and Reinstatement
A critical aspect of the project was the groundwork necessary to accommodate the new EV charging infrastructure. DPL Group assumed responsibility for all groundwork requirements, including excavations, cable routing and structural considerations.

Management of M&E contracting department and overseeing all Project managers & engineers & Costing variations / additional works for current and future projects.

Management of labour resources, subcontractors & procurement of materials to deliver projects on time / budget
- Maintaining positive relationships with the client base
What professional accomplishment are you most proud of? – Delivering a multi-million-pound project at the port of Harwich in the space of 10 weeks on time & within the budget. Working hours were 24/7 to achieve this in such a short timescale.
