Main Contractor: Mannings Project Value: £4 million Services: Mechanical, Electrical, Renewable Energy DPL Group’s installation of Mechanical, Electrical and Renewable energy works at New Way Depot, Ipswich DPL Group worked with Mannings to provide Mechanical, Electrical and Renewable energy systems for Ipswich Borough Council’s carbon-neutral, multi-million-pound facility , New Way Depot. This cutting-edge facility will serve as the operational base for waste, fleet, and maintenance teams responsible for refuse collection, street cleansing, and housing maintenance across the borough. The project entails a new warehouse unit, a two-storey office building and a vehicle maintenance unit. DPL Group implemented a substantial number of  EV charging points in the car park, supporting the Council’s commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. In total, a 190kWp Solar system was installed, with the majority of the solar panels fitted on the new office building and warehouse, with the remainder installed on the Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU). Additionally, The impressive EV charging infrastructure comprises 72 Rolec dual chargers, each with a capacity of 7.4kW, and three 80kW fast chargers. All chargers are designed to accommodate two vehicles charging simultaneously, ensuring efficiency and convenience. Overall, it achieved a BREEAM outstanding rating for the deliverance of a carbon neutral project. The project commenced in April 2024, and the new premises opened just a few days before Christmas in December 2024. The quality, timeliness, and attention to detail demonstrated by DPL on this project have helped us solidify our relationship and reputation with Ipswich Borough Council.
